SUMMARY:

 

The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to receive a report from EAA staff on efforts to study the surface and groundwater interactions between the Trinity and Edwards aquifers, known as the Interformational Flow Study (IFF).

 

Aquifer Science team members Marcus Gary and Brent Doty will present a review of the IFF study and its importance. They will also summarize data acquisition efforts and results from the first phase of the study. Marcus and Brent will provide examples of new communication and data sharing methods that support EAA’s strategic plan concepts of collaboration, outreach, and inclusion. Finally, they will outline goals for future IFF research and the relationship between IFF, aquifer sustainability, the EAHCP, and the Next Generation concept in the coming years.
