Consider canvassing and declaring the official result that an election was not held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, to elect a voting member to the EAA Board of Directors from single-member EAA Director District No. 10 in Hays County.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move the board adopt Resolution and Order No. 11-20-991 of the Edwards Aquifer Authority Board of Directors Declaring the Election for Single-member EAA District Number 10 in Hays County, Texas, was not held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
SUMMARY:
On July 9, 2020, the board adopted Resolution and Order No. 07-20-969 calling for a general directors’ election for the Board of the EAA to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, for the purpose of electing seven directors to serve as voting members of the Board in single-member EAA Director District Nos. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 in Bexar, Comal, Hays, Medina, and Uvalde Counties. Applications for a place on the ballot were accepted by EAA staff through August 17, 2020. Candidates could also file an application as a write-in candidate until August 21, 2020.
On September 8, 2020, the board adopted Resolution and Order No. 09-20-977 declaring six of the seven candidates as unopposed candidates and elected to office pursuant to Sections 2.051-.053, Texas Election Code, for single-member EAA Director District Nos. 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 14 Bexar, Comal, Medina, and Uvalde Counties. Resolution and Order No. 09-20-977 also declared that no applications were filed for the election for single-member EAA District No. 10.
On November 3, 2020, no election was held in Hays County for EAA Director District No. 10, because no applications were filed for the position.
Therefore, because no election was held, the EAA did not enter into an election service contract with Hays County to conduct the election for the EAA jointly in conjunction with other participating political subdivisions; and therefore, no election returns were provided by Hays County.
