SUMMARY:
The purpose of this item is for the Stakeholder Committee to receive a report from Myron Hess on updates and progress of the Springflow Habitat Protection (SHP) Work Group. To date, the SHP Work Group has held 10 virtual meetings. Presentations and discussions have informed members on previous and current work related to the four overarching issues:1) water quality impacts on the spring systems, 2) impacts on the Comal Springs riffle beetle populations, 3) impacts on San Marcos salamander populations, and 4) impacts on Texas wild-rice and other vegetation serving habitat for fountain darters. The Work Group is now refining and clarifying the four overarching issues for approval by the Implementing Committee at a later meeting.
