RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move the board approve the purchase of technology hardware and associated software from Insight Public Sector in an amount not to exceed $87,755.
SUMMARY:
The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to consider a Finance/Administrative Committee recommendation to approve the purchase of computer network hardware and associated software from Insight Public Sector, in an amount not to exceed $87,755. Specifically, this purchase is for fourteen Cisco Catalyst 9200 switches to improve the security of the EAA’s technology infrastructure and to bring the EAA systems up to industry standards.
Insight Public Sector is a vendor on the State of Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) vendor list. The DIR negotiates agreements with vendors for technology services and equipment at preferred pricing. Government entities within Texas, like the EAA, can purchase goods and services from these agreements and take advantage of these pre-negotiated prices and services, without conducting a formal procurement process.
At the March 26 meeting, the Finance/Administrative Committee voted to recommend the board approve the purchase of technology hardware and associated software from Insight Public Sector in an amount not to exceed $87,755.

Insight Public Sector is not an M/WBE vendor.
