The Executive Committee may make a motion to approve or reject the request.
SUMMARY:
The purpose of this agenda item is for the Executive Committee to consider a request from Director Ron Walton to be eligible for reimbursement of expenses associated with his attendance at a third conference in 2018. Having received reimbursement for expenses associated with two conferences earlier in 2018, Director Walton’s request for expense reimbursement associated with his attendance at the Hill Country Alliance Leadership Summit (HCA Summit) in September caused him to exceed the number of conferences for which a director may be reimbursed without prior approval by the Executive Committee. Section 13.07(c) of the EAA Bylaws states:
Any director desiring to attend more than two (2) conferences and desiring to be reimbursed for expenses relating to such additional conference must obtain the prior approval of the Executive Committee before being eligible for reimbursement. The Executive Committee may give or withhold any approval at its discretion.
Approval by the Executive Committee is necessary to authorize staff to reimburse the lodging expenses associated with this conference. At the December 3 meeting, Director Walton will explain to the committee his justification for this expense reimbursement request.
