RECOMMENDED MOTION:

 

Move the board accept the resignation of Director Rebekah Bustamante and declare the vacancy of Edwards Aquifer Authority Director District 3 in Bexar County.

 

 

SUMMARY:

 

The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to accept the resignation of Director Rebekah Bustamante and declare the vacancy of EAA Director District 3 in Bexar County.  Director Bustamante submitted a letter to Chairman Luana Buckner on December 7, 2017, indicating her intent to resign.  She followed this letter with an email on January 1 effectuating the resignation.  A copy of both letters are attached to this summary.  The resignation became final and effective on January 1, 2018, and by operation of law, the position of District 3 became vacant.

 

Following this formal acceptance of Director Bustamante's resignation and declaration of the District 3 vacancy, the board may interview and consider appointing a candidate later on this agenda.  Also attached is a calendar to fill this vacancy, prepared by legal counsel.
