RECOMMENDED MOTION:

Move the board adopt Resolution and Order No. 11-17-889 of the Edwards Aquifer Authority Board of Directors approving a two-year renewal and amendment of Contract 13-670-EX between the EAA and Carriage House Partners, LTD, for legislative consultant services in an amount not to exceed $284,000, for the period December 1, 2017, through November 30, 2019.


SUMMARY:

The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to consider an Executive Committee recommendation to approve a renewal and amendment of Contract 13-670-EX between the EAA and Carriage House Partners, LTD, for legislative consultant services for the period December 1, 2017, through November 30, 2019.

Carriage House Partners, LTD, has provided legislative consultant services to the Edwards Aquifer Authority since December 2013. The original contract included provisions for Carriage House Partners, LTD, to provide legislative consultant services at both the federal and state levels, with options to renew for two additional two-year periods. The proposed renewal represents the second and final option and would extend this contract through November 30, 2019.

The recommended contract amendment would increase the monthly total allowance for other additional expenses from $10,000 to $20,000 for the term of the contract. Over the 24 months of the amended contract, the total compensation would not exceed $284,000.

Resolution and Order No. 11-17-889 and the contract amendment letter, which have both been reviewed by legal counsel, are attached to this item.
