RECOMMENDED MOTION:

Move the board adopt Resolution and Order No. 10-17-886 of the Edwards Aquifer Authority Board of Directors approving a contract between the EAA and Gonzalez Maintenance Construction for the purchase and installation of perimeter fencing and security gates, in an amount not to exceed $134,600.


SUMMARY:

The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to consider a Finance/Administrative Committee recommendation to approve a contract with Gonzalez Maintenance Construction for the purchase and installation of perimeter fencing and security gates for the EAA main office facility. The fencing and security gates are intended to better secure the EAA offices, to deter future theft and vandalism, and to enhance the safety of EAA employees.

EAA staff issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB), following the standard EAA procurement procedures. On June 18, the EAA received five (5) bids from Four Seasons Development Co., Gonzalez Maintenance Construction, Alamo Decks & Fence, Swift Corporation and Dorazio Enterprises. Of those vendors, two (2) are M/WBE.

After review of the bids submitted, EAA staff determined that the bid submitted by Gonzalez Maintenance Construction best met the EAA’s requirements. The evaluation matrix staff used to make this recommendation is attached to this item. The draft resolution and order, and the contract, which have both been reviewed by legal counsel, are also attached to this item.
