SUMMARY:

In 2016, the EAA and the City of San Antonio (CoSA) renewed and updated an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement to support the Edwards Aquifer Protection Program, a 1/8th cent sales-tax funded, land-conservation proposition.  Since the EAA first began assisting with the evaluation and monitoring of conservation easements related to the EAPP, the program has grown from 28,000 to more than 145,000 protected acres.  EAA staff is now using advanced technologies such as satellite remote sensing and ArcGIS mobile applications to keep pace with the tremendous growth. Brent Doty, Aquifer Protection Supervisor, will provide the board with an overview of how these technologies are being used.
