RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move the board approve amendments to the 2017 EAA Operating Budget, increasing the appropriation for the awarding of conservation grants by $100,000, and for the purchase of flow meters by $7,500.
SUMMARY:
The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to consider a Finance/Administrative Committee recommendation to approve two amendments to the 2017 EAA Operating Budget. These amendments, which are depicted on the attached fund summary, increase the 2017 EAA appropriation for capital and other expenses by a total of $107,500.
At the August 8 meeting, the board approved the awarding of EAA water conservation grants for a total amount of $300,000, of which $100,000 will be reimbursed through a grant from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). Additionally, the board was informed of another reimbursable grant from TWDB in the amount of $7,500, that was awarded for the purchase and installation of a limited number of advanced technology meters that would be used as test subjects in the EAA's Automated Meter Reading Program. The specific meters contain built-in communication software and capabilities that may prove beneficial to the program.
At the August 22 meeting, the Finance/Administrative Committee voted to recommend the board approve amendments to the 2017 EAA Operating Budget, increasing the appropriation for the awarding of conservation grants by $100,000, and for the purchase of flow meters by $7,500. These amendments are depicted in the fund summary attached to this agenda item.
