RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move the board authorize the General Manager to submit the EAA's FY 2018 Program Funding Application to the EAHCP process.
SUMMARY:
The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to consider a Finance/Administrative Committee recommendation to submit the Edwards Aquifer Habitat Conservation Program FY2018 draft Program Funding Application on behalf of the EAA. This application requests funding to implement the Conservation Measures and Program Activities described in Table 1 of the application for the period January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018. The total amount of this Funding Application is $19,568,344
The EAA, as a Party to the EAHCP and associated Funding and Management Agreement, has the responsibility of “undertaking and performing each of the specific Conservation Measures assigned” to it in Chapter 5 of the EAHCP. In the same way that the other Parties must apply for program funds to implement their EAHCP responsibilities, the EAA must also submit a Program Funding Application, which is attached to this summary.
The board will be asked to consider approval of the FY2018 funding applications for all the parties to the EAHCP at the November 14 meeting.
At the August 22 meeting, the Finance/Administrative Committee voted to recommend the board authorize the General Manager to submit the EAA's FY 2018 Program Funding Application to the EAHCP process.
