SUMMARY:

The EAA Recharge Program has historically focused on the strategy of increasing recharge to optimize beneficial use of the Aquifer. This presentation provides a summary of the many variables affecting optimization strategies.  Topics include the physical character of the Edwards Aquifer, the history and subsequent evolution of the Recharge Program, as well as various optimization strategies and goals.  The goal of this presentation is to provide adequate background information to make informed decisions regarding long term objectives, and strategies, and better define the role of the EAA among our regional partners. This is the last in a series of staff presentations that began at the March Technical Briefing and continued at the Aquifer Management Planning Committee in March, April, and June.  Mark Hamilton, Executive Director - Aquifer Managment Services, and Jim Boenig, Director - Aquifer Protection, will make this presentation.
