SUMMARY:
The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to receive a staff report on EAA projections to be presented to the EAHCP Budget Work Group. At the May 11 meeting, the Work Group will hear presentations on the methods used to calculate the projected expenses during a “Drought of Record”; on the impacts to the EAHCP reserve balance based on VISPO payouts, and the frontloading of expenses in the Refugia and Regional Water Conservation programs; and on various aquifer management fee scenarios and revenue projections. Staff will present this information to the board at the May 9 meeting in advance of the May 11 Work Group meeting.
The EAHCP Budget Work Group was created by the EAHCP Implementing Committee to review the EAA’s budget process and make recommendations to the Implementing Committee to ensure a fiscally responsible program. The Work Group is made up of representatives from the City of San Marcos, the EAA, San Antonio River Authority, EAHCP Stakeholders, San Antonio Water System, and a Member-at-Large.
