SUMMARY:
The purpose of this item is for the Implementing Committee to receive a report from EAHCP staff on the Conservation Measures Subcommittee Report.
The Edwards Aquifer Habitat Conservation Plan (EAHCP) is in the process of renewing an Incidental Take Permit with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. As part of that process, the existing components of the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) conservation strategy will be reassessed, new elements recommended, and modifications discussed. The Conservation Measures Subcommittee was charged to review and discuss the Conservation Measures that should be considered for inclusion in the next EAHCP. The report outlines the Subcommittee's Conservation Measures recommendations and includes comments for consideration. The next step in this process is to submit the report to ICF, the contractor handling the ITP renewal.
Throughout 2024, the Subcommittee convened nine times and at various locations with a virtual attendance option. All meetings were made public and recorded.
