Move the board approve the purchase of a 2026 Ford Transit Van, using the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Membership Program, in an amount not to exceed $54,166.60.
SUMMARY:
The purpose of this agenda item is for the board to consider an EAA staff recommendation to approve the purchase of a 2026 Ford Transit Van, using the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Membership Program, in an amount not to exceed $54,166.60. This van will replace the current geophysical logging van.
EAA staff proposes replacing the current 20-year old geophysical logging van due to its age, increased repairs/maintenance, and limitations that restrict the ability to access wells in rough or uneven terrain. The geophysical logging van plays a critical role in deploying geophysical logging tools within monitoring wells across the EAA jurisdiction. These activities are essential for understanding subsurface geologic formations and supporting accurate data collection and analysis. The tools are also used to inspect groundwater wells to ensure regulatory compliance. EAA staff believes the proposed 2026 Ford Transit Van is the most suitable replacement and will significantly improve accessibility to remote monitoring locations, enhancing both efficiency and safety during field operations.
