SUMMARY:
The purpose of this item is for the Implementing Committee to receive a report from Myron Hess, EAHCP Stakeholder Committee Chair, and Scott Storment, EAHCP Program Manager, on the charge and scope of work for the Springflow Habitat Protection Work Group. This Work Group was formed as a product of the approval of the VISPO non-routine adaptive management proposal on May 23, 2019 by the Implementing Committee at the Stakeholder Committee’s recommendation.
The Springflow Habitat Protection Work Group will carry out the following assignments: clarify and refine the primary questions in Part 1 of the draft charge, identify the technical expertise needed to carry out the proposed technical studies, and understand the effects of extended periods of low springflow on Covered Species. The charge will be presented for approval by the Implementing Committee on March 19, 2020.
