SUMMARY:

On July 14, 2026, the board adopted Resolution and Order No. 07-26-151 calling for a general directors election for the board of the EAA to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the purpose of electing nine directors to serve as voting members of the Board in single-member EAA Director District Nos. 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13 and 15 in Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, Caldwell, Medina, Atascosa, and Uvalde Counties. Applications for a place on the ballot were accepted by EAA staff through August 17, 2026. Candidates could also file an application as a write-in candidate until August 21, 2026.

Also on September 8, 2026, the board adopted Resolution and Order No. 09-26-156 declaring eight (8) of the nine (9) candidates as unopposed candidates and elected to office pursuant to Sections 2.051-.053, Texas Election Code, for single-member EAA Director District Nos. 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, and 15, in Atascosa, Bexar, Caldwell, Comal, Hays, Medina, and Uvalde counties. On November 3, 2026, an election was duly held for EAA Director District No. 1 in Bexar County. Pursuant to Subchapter D of Chapter 31 and Chapter 271, Texas Election Code, the EAA entered into an election services contract with Bexar County to conduct this election for the EAA jointly in conjunction with other participating political subdivisions.

The resolution and order to be considered at the November 10 meeting requires the Chairman of the Board, pursuant to Section 67.016, Texas Election Code, to have prepared and promptly issue a certificate of election for each eligible candidate duly elected as provided in the resolution and order.  Also, according to Resolution and Order No. 09-26-156 adopted by the board on September 8, 2026, discussed above, certificates of election are to be issued to the eight (8) unopposed directors in accordance with the Texas Election Code in the same manner and at the same time as provided for a candidate elected at the November 3, 2026, general directors election of the EAA.  Therefore, at the board meeting pursuant to these resolutions and orders, the Chairman of the board will issue certificates of elections to the elected and unopposed directors for EAA Director District Nos. 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, and 15.
